Cura Group expands Canberra services

Leading private day hospitals operator Cura has expanded its portfolio with an acquisition to strengthen its healthcare services in Canberra.

The group now has 24 nationwide facilities following the purchase of ACT Endoscopy, based in Deakin – also home to the prime minister's official residence. 

It opened in 2012 to cater to the growing gastrointestinal needs of the Australian Capital Territory and the surrounding area of New South Wales. 

Cura Day Hospitals Group CEO Peter Freeleagus said the move fitted its policy of providing high-quality services to patients in strategic locations.   

"ACT Endoscopy's commitment to providing the highest standard of gastrointestinal endoscopy and related services to their patients is a natural complement to Cura's existing portfolio and values. 

"The acquisition ensures Cura is well positioned to address the growing demand for same-day hospital services in the Canberra community," he said. 

Cura, established in 2008, also owns Canberra's Brindabella Endoscopy Centre in Garran.
