The inaugural HESTA Impact Awards shone a light on the healthand community services professionals taking steps to create a better future – and now it is time to find the next group of unsung heroes.
The 2022 awards will again feature three categories – Team Innovation, Outstanding Organisation and Individual Distinction – with a $30,000 prize pool.
The judges are looking for nominees who can show they are driving improved, long-lasting outcomes in sustainability, gender equality, health, diversity and inclusion.
"I was blown away last year by the incredible things, great and small, health and community servicesprofessionals across the nation were doing to protect the future of our society, economy and planet,"HESTA CEO Debby Blakey said.
"From a hospital-wide recycling program and housing pop-up shelter to improving health outcomes forpeople from asylum-seeker backgrounds, this is the kind of work and thinking that will help close thegap in inequality, tackle climate change and create a diverse and inclusive society.
"HESTA wants to help recognise the wonderful people, many of whom are our members, who aredoing this important, life-changing work."
The Awards criteria is modelled on several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,which HESTA uses to align its activities across responsible investment, advocacy and thoughtfulstewardship of its members' savings to help create a more sustainable world.
It was the first major Australian super fund tocommit to a total portfolio net-zeroemissions target by 2050 as part of a Climate Change Transition Plan, and was the founding investor of 40:40 Vision – a group of leading ASX200 companies committedto achieving gender balance in their executive leadership teams by 2030.

Winners will be announced at the Awards dinner in Sydney on Thursday 24 February 2022, subject toCOVID-19 safety restrictions.
