Staff at Hollywood Private Hospital have been showing their solidarity for the people of Ukraine, raising thousands of dollars to help the victims of the Russian invasion.
Taking the chance to bring back the Perth facility's popular 'Taste of the World' international catering concept – which was paused during the COVID-19 pandemic – the cafeteria offered Ukrainian cuisine, honey cake and sunflowers for employees to buy.
The Ukrainian menu featured dishes such as borscht (vegetarian soup), bigos (hunter stew) andpierogi (cheese and potato dumplings).
The sales raised nearly $2,800 and all profits were given to the Ukrainian Embassy in Perth.
"We had a lot of requests about raising funds to help support those in need in Ukraine anddecided to bring back the 'Taste of the World' as part of a fundraiser," Hollywood Private Hospital's Catering Manager Peter Trusler said.
"We also sold sunflowers because they are the symbol of resistance, unity and hope.
"The international community has been displaying sunflowers to show their solidarity withUkraine."
CEO Peter Mott said Hollywood Private's strong history of giving and philanthropy aligned with the 'people caring for people'philosophy of its owner Ramsay Health Care Australia.
"Our Ramsay Cares strategy is focused on fostering healthier people, stronger communities and a thriving planet," he said.
