Armidale Private Hospital has reached the notable milestone of 25 years providing quality healthcare services to communities in New South Wales' Northern Tablelands.
New CEO Debra Maslen has praised the "passionate,skilledand dedicated workforce" at the 30-bed facility, which is located about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane.
It offersa comprehensive range of servicesincluding gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics,anaesthetics, dental surgery, endoscopyandgeneral surgery.
"Armidale Private Hospital was built in 1998 to meet demand from the local community for additional healthcare services in the region," Ms Maslen said.
"In the last 25 years we have grown to include additional services and introduce some of the latest technology, including a new Mako robot in 2021.
"We're passionate about offering the latest technology to the people of Armidale and surrounding regions to reduce the need for patients to have to travel to Sydney or Brisbane to access leading healthcare services."
Several staff have been involved with the hospital – which became part of Australia's leading operator Ramsay Health Care in 2005 – for its quarter of a century of operations.
Ms Maslen paid tribute to the contribution of her predecessor Mary Single, who was at Armidale Private when it opened on 27 January 1998 until her departure at the end of 2022.
"Mary dedicated 25 years tothe hospital andupheld the 'Ramsay Way'valuesin all aspects of her leadership and nursing," she said.
"Mary had a strong belief in teamwork and provided a supportive environment toencourage staff growth."
Kath Latter, Nurse Unit Manager of the Operating Theatres for the past five years, is also one of the original staff along with infection control nurse Jane Horton.
"Kathis passionate abouteducating staff to ensure that the patients get the best outcomes possible," Ms Maslen said.
"Jane providestremendousknowledge and experience to the hospitaland played a vital role in ensuring team and patient safety during the COVID pandemic," she added.
Senior Registered Nurse Geraldine Bragghasalsobeen with ArmidalePrivateHospital since it opened.
"Geraldine consistently demonstrates kindness,compassionand empathy to all the patients and families she cares for," Ms Maslen said.
"All of our team members are committed to providing exceptionalservice and careand I'd like to thank everyone who has been part of Armidale Private Hospital over the past 25 years."
