Friday 23rd June, 2023

Ramsay Health Care has been named as one of Australia's most desirable employers in a new research survey.

Australia's largest private hospitals operator was ranked in the 'Top 10 most attractive employers in 2023' report by recruitment and human resources services firm Randstad.

"Being included on this list is particularly pleasing given the challenges our sector has faced during the past two years," saidthe global group's Australian CEO, Carmel Monaghan.

"We have been working hard to foster an enjoyable and flexible work environment and create professional development opportunities. We also prioritise the wellbeing and mental health of our teams."

Ramsay was ranked 10th, one of only three private organisations in this year's list.

Nearly 6,000 Australians were surveyed about more than 75 of the country's largest private and public companies, as part of one of the world's largest independent employer brand studies.

The report found that what Australians most wanted when looking for an employer was: good work/life balance, attractive salary and benefits, job security, good training, and strong management.

Ms Monaghan said Ramsay had acted on employee feedback to offer the chance to improve and progress within the company.

"In our own internal surveys our people have told us they value career progression and professional development, and we listened," she said.

"We'verecently expanded our Ramsay Health Care Australian Leadership Academy to offer support, mentorshipand career pathways for our people."

Founded as a psychiatric hospital in Sydney in 1964 by Paul Ramsay, the company now has 72 facilities across Australia, employing over 33,000 people.

This year it was named the country's top graduate employer in the healthcare industry, and 80thacross all sectors nationwide.

"Our long-standing values are underpinned bythe enduring belief of our founder, Paul RamsayAO, that if you look after the people, success will follow," Ms Monaghan said.

"Our 'people caring for people' culture is what has and continues to make Ramsay successful. Thank you to all our people around the country for helping us to make Ramsaya great placeto work."
