Ramsay Health Care is offering a scholarship for young LGBTQI+ Australians studying in medical or healthcare-related fields.
Partnering with Australia's leading LGBTQIA+ education charity, The Pinnacle Foundation, the Ramsay Health Care Scholarshipwill help young people undertake full-time tertiary studies.
Chanelle McEnallay, chair of the private healthcare group'sDiversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Committee,said she hoped the scholarships would help some young peopleto realise their full potential.
"After meetingwith The Pinnacle Foundation,I was absolutely blown away by their stories and their journey," Ms McEnallay said.
"Ramsay'sDiversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Committeeis committed to seeking opportunities to support medical and healthcare professionals toovercome challenges arising from their identity."
Ramsay is Australia's largest private hospitals operator, employing more than 30,000 people at its 74 facilities nationwide.
"Our aim is to have a workforce as diverse as the communities weoperatein," said Ms McEnallay, who is also Ramsay's Chief Risk Officer and Legal Services Director.
"We're proud to partner with The Pinnacle Foundation for the next three years and look forward to welcoming our scholarship applicants to the Ramsay family."
