Women workers rate Ramsay highly

Ramsay Health Care has been named as one of the world's top healthcare companies for female employees.

Australia's largest private hospitals operator was ranked sixth in the 'Healthcare and Social' category of a global survey by United States business magazine Forbes and market research firm Statista.

Ramsay, which also has operations in the United Kingdom, France, Malaysia and Indonesia, was 379thoverall in the 'World's Top CompaniesForWomen 2023'report.

It was the second of only two Australian companies featured in the survey, which involved around 70,000 womenacross 37 countries.

Ramsay's Australia CEO, Carmel Monaghan, saidthe listing reflected the group'scommitment tofosteringan inclusive andequitable work environment.

"Werecognise thatourpeople areourmost important asset and key to the organisation's ongoing success.Our Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging strategy wasestablishedto helpdrive business resultsbyassistingus toattract, recruit, engage andretaina diverse group of talented people," she said.

"We want a workforcethat isas diverse as the communities weserve."

The survey rated businesses on general workplace practices and gender-specific issues, including pay equity,flexible work arrangements, skill development programsand advancement opportunities.

Ms Monaghan said Ramsay's commitment to employee equality started at the top, as part of its role in the 40:40 Vision initiative launched by health superfund HESTA to achieve gender balance in the executive leadership of Australia's largest listed companies.

"We haveset measurable objectives for achieving gender diversity in the composition of the board, senior executives and workforce generally," she said.

"To do this, we're working hard to ensure ouremployees feel engaged, valued and well-supported in their day-to-day roles and in pursuit of their professional goals."
