Tuesday 16th April, 2024

Nine finalists out of hundreds of nominations have been announced for the 2024 HESTA Australian Nursing and Midwifery Awards.

A panel of industry experts from across the health sector selected three finalists for each of the three categories: Nurse of the Year, Midwife of the Year, and Outstanding Organisation.

The health industry super fund's annual awards – now in their 18th year – acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Australia's nurses, midwives, nurse educators, researchers and personal care workers.

"Congratulations to all finalists, who represent the epitome of dedication, compassion, and professionalism in the fields of nursing and midwifery," HESTA CEO Debby Blakey said.

"It's fantastic to learn about their individual stories and accomplishments."

The winners will be announced on Thursday 16 May 2024, with a $30,000 prize pool to be split equally for use in professional development or to improve delivery of services or processes.

"We owe a great deal to our nurses, midwives, and the organisations whose work makes a meaningful difference for their communities and healthcare industries around Australia," Ms Blakey added.

"It's fantastic the HESTA Awards can help showcase their outstanding work."
