Tuesday 3rd September, 2024

The winners of the 2024 HESTA Excellence Awards have been praised for their efforts in improving the health outcomes of Australians.

The eight winners were announced at a ceremony in Melbourne, with the 24 finalists having been selected from a record number of nearly 400 nominations.

The national awards celebrate leading teams and individuals working in the Disability, Allied Health, Aged Care, and Community Services sectors.

"Congratulations to all our winners and finalists," said Debby Blakey, CEO of health industry superfund HESTA.

"These teams and organisations have demonstrated outstanding excellence in providing essential services, significantly improving the lives of patients, clients and their families."

This year's winners included a team from Western Australia that helps children with complex and invisible conditions, an individual from New South Wales who supports families with premature and sick newborns, and an individual from regional Victoria who empowers people with disabilities through performance.

Each took home an equal share of the $60,000 prize pool, to be used for further education, service improvement, or team development.

"We deeply appreciate these professionals' daily contributions to the Disability, Allied Health, Aged Care, and Community Services sectors," Ms Blakey said.

"It's a great privilege for the HESTA team to acknowledge these finalists and shine a spotlight on the crucial work done by so many across these sectors."
