Sydney Adventist Hospital celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025 in a sea of pink.
Doctors, nurses, staff and supporters gathered on the front lawn of New South Wales' largest private hospital – also known as the San – to kick off October's 'Feel-Act-Know' campaign, which encourages women to get regular breast checks.
The hospital's charity arm, the San Foundation, provided pink scrubs and polo shirts for the event.
It featured speeches from Adventist HealthCare CEO Brett Goods, cancer surgeon Associate Professor Sandra Krishnan, and San Foundation Managing Director Judy Tanna, who shared their insights on the importance of breast health and the role of the community in supporting those affected by cancer.
Staff visitors filled out "I'm going pink for ..." cards in honour of loved ones, which were displayed in the hospital cafeteria for the whole month.
Event attendees also signed a giant pink ribbon, committing to booking a breast check before the end of October.
The wider hospital community was later invited to connect with teams from San Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, the Cancer Support Centre, and the San GP Centre, who all deliver breast cancer care every day.
The launch event was one of several activities the San planned for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Together they formed part of a broader campaign designed to empower people to understand their bodies, recognise any changes early and prioritise regular screening as an essential part of protecting their health.
