Melbourne's Epworth Freemasons is offering a stylish new service to help mums feel their glamorous best.

While a dedicated team of obstetricians, midwives, nurses and allied health professionals provide exceptional care and support for patients during pregnancy, labour and birth at the private hospital, there's now a 'Glam Squad' to help mums look and feel their best once their baby has arrived safely.

The Glam Squad is on hand to provide post-birth massage, hairstyling, and Insta-worthy photography to new mums.

Epworth Freemasons patient Kim gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, almost a month early.

She said the unexpected delivery left her with little time to prepare for her stay in hospital.

"I think this is a beautiful opportunity to capture some memories with our little one," she said.

"The massage is just a wonderful bonus and such an invaluable initiative to care for new mums."

All treatments take place in the patient's room, with a dedicated newborn photographer on-hand to capture the first days of family life.

The massage treatments are designed to help the body recover and recuperate after birth, with therapists working closely with Epworth obstetricians to ensure safe and effective treatments.

No photoshoot would be complete without a full salon-style blow wave and hair treatment, helping new mums feel like themselves again.

Epworth Freemasons' Postnatal Manager, Papa Xuereb, said the Glam Squad services were growing in popularity.

"A bit of TLC does wonders for new mums," she said.

"They're tired, they've forgotten what it's like to feel pampered, and the last stages of pregnancy – not to mention the birth itself – can be incredibly taxing.

"Our Glam Squad is here to help our mums look and feel a million dollars, before they return home to caring for their babies 24/7."

The Glam Squad services and pricing are available to all maternity patients at the Epworth HealthCare hospital, and individual services can be booked ahead of time to give parents something relaxing to look forward to.

The central city hospital also partners with the nearby Park Hyatt, where low-risk patients (subject to meeting hospital criteria, and clearance from their doctor) can spend their first few days as a family in five-star luxury, with all hotel meals for mum provided. This option is subject to availability.
