Monday 15th December, 2025

Icon has teamed up with Perth-based Cyclowest to deliver trials at its new cancer centre

Australians can look forward to accessing the latest advancements in cancer treatment at Icon's new first-of-its-kind centre in Perth.

Australia's largest dedicated comprehensive cancer care provider has teamed up with radiopharmaceutical manufacturer Cyclowest to accelerate innovation in theranostics and molecular imaging across the country.

Cyclowest will deliver research radiochemistry services for Phase I and early phase trials at Icon's Theranostics and Molecular Imaging centre at Hollywood Medical Centre in Nedlands.

It is located in the same campus as Australia's largest private healthcare facility, Hollywood Private Hospital.

"The collaboration represents a major milestone for theranostics in Australia," said Icon Group's Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ian Irving.

"By combining our strengths, we're able to accelerate research, improve clinical outcomes, and offer patients access to the latest advancements in personalised medicine."

The partnership aims to fast-track the translation of cutting-edge research into real-world patient care by combining Cyclowest's radiochemistry expertise with Icon's nationwide clinical network.

It will give patients in Western Australia and beyond greater access to the latest diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, delivered through early-phase clinical trials at Icon Cancer Centre Hollywood, which opened for its first consultations in December 2025.

It will also drive research by creating a platform for pharma-sponsored trials, supporting the development of new theranostics agents and therapies that have the potential to transform cancer treatment.

"We look forward to working closely with Cyclowest to set new standards in patient care and innovation," Dr Irving said.

Theranostics is a personalised approach to cancer care that combines imaging diagnostics with targeted therapy to eliminate cancer cells.

Icon opened its first theranostics clinic at Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes in Brisbane in October 2023.
