Mildura Health Private Hospital has appointed Sharita Ram as its new Executive General Manager as it begins the next phase of its development.
Ms Ram will lead the hospital's executive team, taking over from Interim CEO Trevor Matheson.
She will oversee the delivery of strategic and operational priorities, supporting the organisation's ongoing commitment to high‑quality, patient‑centred care for the Mildura region.
"Sharita is a highly respected and experienced health leader with a proven track record in strengthening quality systems, improving patient flow, building organisational culture and leading multidisciplinary teams," Mildura Health CEO Gerard Op de Coul said.
"Her expertise in strategy, finance and high‑performance leadership positions her strongly to guide the hospital into its next phase."
Ms Ram was General Manager at SummitCare St Marys from 2020-25, and was previously Hospital Director at Holroyd Private Hospital from 2018-20.
Ms Ram said her decision to relocate to the Sunraysia region from Sydney was driven by both professional opportunity and community connection.
"After learning more about the role and visiting Mildura, it became clear this was the right fit," she said.
"I was impressed by the hospital, the people and the strong sense of community. This role represents an exciting professional challenge and a positive lifestyle change.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know the team, engaging with the community, and contributing positively to the hospital and the Mildura region."
Mr Op de Coul paid tribute to the efforts of Mr Matheson, who will resume his role on the Mildura Health Private Hospital Committee and support Ms Ram throughout the transition period.
He initially took on the role as Interim CEO in October 2024 as a short‑term assignment but ended up leading the development of the hospital's three‑year strategic plan and strengthening key partnerships.
"Trevor's leadership, professionalism and commitment have left a lasting mark on the hospital," Mr Op de Coul said.
"We sincerely thank him for his dedication and wish him every success in the next chapter."
