Medical supplier Johnson & Johnson has been recognised with an international benchmarkfor identifying outstanding employee experiences in its Australasian divisions.
The global group's Family of Companies, operating across three healthcare sectors, has been certified as a 'Great Place to Work' in Australia and New Zealand in its first year of participation in the prestigious rating system of workplace culture.
The designation is achieved by organisations whose staff report a high level of trust in their leaders, have pride in what they do, and experience camaraderie with their colleagues.
"Our employees have a shared sense of purpose to change the trajectory of health for humanity, so working here feels like more than just a job," said Sue Martin, Managing Director of Johnson & Johnson's MedTech ANZ company.
"People at J&J feel a commitment and responsibility to the patients, doctors, nurses, mothers and fathers that use our products and services, as well as to the communities in which we live and work, and are proud of the difference we can make."
The certification follows Johnson & Johnson's top ranking in the Health Industries category of the 2021Australian Financial Review BOSSBest Places to Work list.
Biljana Naumovic, Managing Director of the Janssen ANZ pharmaceuticals division, said expectations around work/life balance had shifted significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We have embraced new ways of working to ensure our employees can manage both their work and personal commitments, such as adopting a hybrid workplace and providing a compelling range of benefits, such as flexible work choices," she said.
"We also invest in our employees' wellbeing through our signature 'Energy for Performance' training, onsite and virtual gym classes, exercise reimbursement, and mental health education and support."
In recent years, Johnson & Johnson has also won recognition for its leadership and health and wellness programs at the Australian HR Awards, in 2020 and 2021 respectively, while itwas also granted the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equity citation in 2021.
Nadia Yu, Managing Director of the Consumer Health division, said the group's focus on diversity, equity and inclusion had rated highly in employee feedback.

"We are striving to ensure that we embed a culture that not only treats everyone equally, but actively seeks input from all."
