Bel Murphy has been Administration Officer/Admissions Admin Supportat Aurora Healthcare's Robina Private Hospital on the Gold Coast for over two and a half years.
What's the best part about your job?
Being able to make a difference, be it small or big, to a patient by showing kindness and empathy.
Providing a warm smile as first contact, as patients walk in to our hospital, providing a calm and stress-free admission into the hospital, and seeing the progress of a patient as they move through their treatment.
What is something about your job that not many people know about, and what would surprise other people about working in a private hospital?
I have been given the opportunity to work as admissions admin support alongside my administration role with our admissions coordinator to help create admission productivity and referral flow. This has given me the opportunity to gain more skills and knowledge in regards to patient admissions and the care and treatment plans that are in place for our patients.
What do you love about working in a private hospital?
I love working at Robina Private Hospital for the strong bond I have between my team and colleagues I work with.
What do you like to do outside of work and/or what is something your colleagues don't know about you?
Gym, spending time with my family and friends. I am a hairdresser and I used to play the bass guitar.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Always be kind –you never know what someone is going through! Always treat others the way you would want to be treated.
