Sydney's Wyvern Private Hospital has announced the appointment of the CEO who will oversee its scheduled opening in late 2024.
Carol Bryant, previously CEO of Westmead Private Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital, will take charge as the $98 million project enters its commissioning and operational phase.
She will be supported by Director of Clinical Services Anne Scott and Chief Financial Officer John Boulous.
"We are excited to welcome Carol Bryant as our new CEO," Wyvern Health Chair Dr Bill Sears said.
"Her leadership and experience in managing private hospitals will be crucial as we prepare to open our doors to patients in November."
With the hospital's construction phase having concluded on Friday 19 July this year, Valufacture Solutions and its CEO Ian Campbell will step aside from their role in the project.
"We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Ian Campbell for the pivotal role he has played and his invaluable contributions in conceiving and bringing the project to this point," Dr Sears added.
Wyvern Private Hospital will be an 85-bed private surgical and rehabilitation facility surrounded by pristine bushland at Terrey Hills in Sydney's Northern Beaches region.
Its state-of-the-art facilities, designed by doctors, will include seven operating theatres, a cardiac catheterisation laboratory, 56 surgical inpatient beds, 20 rehabilitation beds, nine Intensive Care Unit beds, associated clinical support units, doctor consulting suites, and a 148-space car park.
It will offer specialist medical services including spinal, orthopaedic, vascular and plastic surgeries, ear, nose and throat procedures, general operations, plus interventional cardiology and pain management.
