The 2026 HESTA Australian Nursing and Midwifery Awards are now open for nominations.
Next year's event marks the 20th anniversary of the awards, which celebrate the outstanding individuals, teams and organisations that make a difference to the health and community services sector.
HESTA CEO Debby Blakey called on Australians to start nominating the best and brightest nurses and midwives.
"Nurses and midwives play a vital role in shaping healthier communities through their unwavering care, expertise and compassion," she said.
"They make a difference that truly deserves to be celebrated and honoured."
Nominations can be made across three categories: Nurse of the Year, Midwife of the Year, and Outstanding Organisation, with a prize on offer for the winner of each category.
"Making a nomination for the HESTA Awards is a meaningful way to honour the exceptional work of a nurse or midwife," Ms Blakey said.
"It's an opportunity to shine a spotlight on their dedication, compassion, and the positive impact they've made in the lives of others and the community."
Employers, colleagues and members of the public have until 18 January 2026 to nominate a nursing or midwifery professional or organisation who has demonstrated leadership, innovation, and pursued excellence to deliver high-quality patient care.
The finalists will be announced on 14 April 2026, and winners revealed at a special ceremony in Melbourne on 14 May.
